Inverness & The Highlands

The Highlands is possibly the most beautiful and photogenic part of the British Isles. We are spoilt with a vast array of beaches, harbours, lochs, mountain ranges, castles, abbeys, country houses and estates, steam trains, whisky distilleries, wildlife etc. all on our doorstep within easy reach. That’s not to mention skiing, sailing, 4×4, water and outdoor sports centres, the Highland Games and so many more attractions.

Andy is in photography heaven! You can see some of his favourite photos from the locality on the PhotoTile ‘widget’ in the right hand column of this page, or on his Flickr page here.

We also offer bespoke tours of The Highlands, from two to 10 days, with several different themes, including Historical, Ancestral, Outlander, Highland Culture, wildlife, landscape and digital photography – all with the option of personal development mentoring too. Take a look at our other website: Highland Personal Development Photography Tours for more details and photo galleries.

Below are a few shots that we have taken of some of our favourite local views all within seconds or minutes from our house.

Our home is located on a hill in Culloden with beautiful views overlooking the Moray Firth, Kessock Bridge and mountains.

Culloden Forest is a couple of minutes walk from our front door and is stunningly beautiful. It goes on for miles and enjoys a wide variety of wildlife, including deer. Sunrise and sunset walks through the forest are just incredible.

Loch Ness Dores

One of our favourite short trips out to Loch Ness, Dores and the Does Inn

Miles of fantastic sand at Nairn Beach just up the road!
